Is this a trend? Three Kasie West books in a row? Honestly, YES! I couldn't help it. She's just that good. Any book that can have me crying at work is a book worth reading. But I digress.
Autumn Collins finds herself locked inside of a library with the school bad boy, Dax Miller. At first, they hate each other, but then they realize that they need each other for food, warmth, and companionship. The story really takes off from there. Add one almost boyfriend, some absentee foster parents, and an accident that changes Autumn's life and, as Carl Weathers would say, you've got a stew going.
Remember the book, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by It's the one where the brother and the sister run away and live in a museum. This book is a lot like that, only there is a hot guy, they're in a library, and the girl has an anxiety disorder. Oh, and no one washes in a fountain.
I gotta say that I felt bad for the almost boyfriend. He was super nice and funny. I mean, yeah, he wasn't right for autumn but I really rooted for him to get his happily ever after. Maybe one day.
I loved Autumn and Dax. I love the friends to lovers storyline and boy did they work it! I have to admit that when they finally got together I cried. At my desk. At work. Yes, it was that good. So good that I might just get myself locked in a library.

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.
Only he doesn’t come. No one does.
Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?
